Once I was driving overnight through the country from one state to another, when I just had to stop the car.
The sky was just so beautiful, gleaming with stars strewn across the heavens so close that I felt that I could almost reach up and touch them. And so I stopped the car. I got out. I looked up to heaven. And I praised God for his magnificence and beauty.
You see, there are things you can see in the darkness that you’ll never see in the light. Contrary to popular wisdom, not everything about darkness is bad.
I’ve been through some pretty dark moments, moments I’d never wish on you. But I’ve discovered that there really are treasures in the darkness, treasures that we don’t often see.
Next time you’re facing a tough time, or perhaps you’re facing one now, Jesus has promised to be with you. Remember, there really are treasures in the darkness.
