24-year-old Faith Sosene stunned the audience and judges of TV’s The Voice, with her audition singing Celine Dion’s ‘Because You Loved Me’ – which drew a standing ovation, and turned the chairs of all four judges.
Faith, who is used to singing in church, spoke in an interview about how her faith is an important part of her The Voice journey.
“It really does help me push through” she said. “It’s such a new experience, it’s such a new stage especially being in the secular world so I’m really praying to God to help me through things that I don’t know.”
Faith dedicated her blind audition performance to her Mum who she cares for full time.
“I just had to eliminate the crowd and the coaches out of the room and my mind and just sing to my Mum, it was the only way I could have gotten through the song.”
With all four judges to choose from, Faith chose ‘Team Jess’ describing it as a perfect fit.
“She really resonated with a bit of my backstory and also as an artist, I’ve always listened to her since I was a little girl and also having her on a similar show like The Voice… a perfect fit”.
