Why It’s Okay to Swim After Eating

By: Sam Chan

Did you know that you don’t have to wait 30 minutes after lunch before you swim?

It’s not as dangerous as we thought.

Which makes sense.

Because you see marathon runners eating while running. And tour-de-France cyclists eating while cycling.

Based on that logic, you could eat a hamburger and swim at the same time.

So why do we make up rules that are completely wrong?

Here’s another rule, I once heard, that I now know is completely wrong.

It’s this: “God helps those who help themselves.”

In the Bible, the opposite is true: “God helps those who ask for help.”

We can’t help ourselves. That’s why God had to send his son Jesus.

Jesus came to save – not those who have it all together – but those who are humble enough to call out for help.

Which you just might have to do if you’re silly enough to eat a hamburger and swim at the same time.
